![]() ![]() ![]() Then Frances meets Aled, and for the first time, she's unafraid to be herself. Nothing will stand in her way not friends, not a guilty secret - not even the person she is on the inside. i would definitely recommend this book and any other book by alice oseman to anyone (especially queer and ya/teen readers) as they are all beautifully written masterpieces." What if everything you set yourself up to be was wrong?įrances is a study machine with one goal. their voice also works really well with frances. i personally love the way they change their voice slightly for aled because i don’t think any other voice would work for him. and it’s soothing without loosing your attention. it’s crisp and clear without it being jarring. i also think since i am reviewing an audiobook i should talk about the narrator. as someone who is good at predicting plot outcomes form the begging i can say i had some fun suspecting some stuff but was never able to fully figure it out which kept the story satisfying. and even though it develops well there are still turns in the plot and the story never fails to be interesting. the story has some mysterious and tense aspects that keep you on the edge of your seat, without being frustrating or too suspenseful. it takes its time developing the story without anything dragging on (honestly it’s just the perfect pace) to the point where it’s not something i thought about once while reading (with other books this bothers me a lot i am very important but like to savor things). i guess i should actually talk about the plot some. ![]() the realness and rawness of it all how accurately and realistically different people express themselves in different ways weather but body language or speech or their actions. the plot is amazing and captivating but best part about this has got to be the emotion. i also really love the world building even thought places are not necessarily key points in the plot you get feel for the places that are around the characters that are often frequented or mention and it feels like it takes place in an actual place. the way the characters interact with each other and the world is just so well developed and so perfect (i’m really failing with adjectives right now). each character is developed in a way that makes it seem like they have a life outside of advancing the plot like they are real people with real stuff going on even if they are only seen once in the entire story. my favorite par was definitely the characters: the way they were portrayed and described there was this realness to them, they felt like real people the way they were described in such detail, every little habit or pattern in their behavior was shown in the most subtle way possible which, like i said before, makes them so real and believable. everything from the plot to the characters was perfect. If you’re looking for an ice breaker read and don’t want to put too much thought into something than throw on this audio book and check out the decent story, but in my opinion if you’re looking for something captivating then look somewhere else because you will not find that here. Radio silence book movie#I think if it was a 90 minute movie I would’ve enjoyed it more, but instead I spent over 500 minutes wondering what all the hype was about. The writing was a bit sloppy, I didn’t care for the main character Frances and it was way longer than it should have been. I even caught myself checking the time to see if it was almost over. In fact, the only time I was unable to stop listening was towards the end because I honestly just wanted to get it over with so I start something else. Maybe my expectations were too high, because it never grabbed me and I found myself taking many breaks from it. I went into this blind because of the amazing reviews it had received and felt that I couldn’t be disappointed. So, I will not rate this higher than a 3 and I feel like I’m being generous with a 3. I simply felt no attachment to it at all, it wasn’t a great book, It was just ok. I did not find this relatable, and not because I haven’t gone through the things the characters deal with because I have. I found a few that seemed to agree with some opinions I had, but still rated it a 4 out of 5 because of how relatable it was for them. So, clearly my opinion is not a very popular one. It was just ok.įirst off, I want to say that I’m big on checking out reviews for books after I read them and I could only find 1 that agreed with me. ![]()
